*PARKER DH GRADE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 114677. Built on a No. 3 frame with 30” Titanic Steel bbls with tapered, concave, matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head rib extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Mounted with replacement buttstock of straight grain, American walnut with orig checkered, splinter forearm. Stock is pistol grip with teardrop side panels, 14-3/4” over a reproduction deep dog’s head buttplate. Receiver is engraved in typical “D” grade patterns with a pointer on left side, a setter on right side & four partridge on floorplate, surrounded by foliate arabesque patterns with maker’s name in a ribbon on each side. Bore diameter: left – .781, right – .791. Bore restrictions: left – .041, right – .049. Wall thickness: left – .022, right – .022. Drop at heel: 2-3/8”, drop at comb: 1-1/4”. Weight: 7 lbs. 15.04 oz. CONDITION: Fine to very fine, as restored. Bbls retain about all of their strong bright blue finish. Receiver retains 50-60% faded case colors, stronger on right side and floorplate with balance a silver patina. Bottom front of receiver has fine pitting with other spots of fine pitting over top & thumb lever. Trigger guard has been polished & retains 60-70% of a restored finish. Wood is sound and retains most all of its fine custom finish. Water table has some fine pitting with some etching on bbl flats. Mechanics are a little sticky but fine & functional, bright shiny bores that may have been honed. Dr. Poppell Collection 4-59301 JR552 (5,000-8,000)
