REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK NO. 1 MODEL 1 SHOTGUN. Cal. 16B Brass/20 ga. paper. NSN. Usual configuration with 28” damascus bbl, brass bead front sight & Remington’s semi-buckhorn, rear sight filed flat. Bbl has a full length rifled insert, chambered in 44 American. Mounted with nicely figured, uncheckered, slab sawed, American walnut with straight stock & smooth steel shotgun buttplate. Insert fits perfectly & certainly would fire, however the shotgun extractor does not reach revolver cartridge rim. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains a smooth mottled brown Damascus pattern with scattered spots of light surface rust. Receiver has case colors in very sheltered areas with balance a silver brown patina. Forearm has a crack at left rear edge, otherwise wood is sound and retains about all of a modern refinish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny rifled bore with some slight orange peel roughness in front of chamber. Shotgun bore was not checked. 4-60178 JR385 (2,000-3,000)
