SCARCE REMINGTON MODEL 1894 CE GRADE DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN100275. Scarce Remington with 30″ “Wash N” pattern Damascus bbls choked MOD/MOD with flat, matted, and tapered rib with dbl ivory beads, third bite bbl extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Rear bead is broken. Maker’s name & address is rolled on the rib. Receiver has about 30% coverage very fine foliate arabesque patterns with the maker’s name roll marked on each side. Wood is very nicely figured American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & rnd knob semi-pistol grip stock with raised side panels, 14-1/8″ over an old crystallized rubber pad. Drop at the heel 2-7/8″, drop at the comb 1-5/8″. Weight: 7 lbs. 0.9 oz. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbls retain 93-95% strong orig brown Damascus pattern with light muzzle & chamber end wear, scattered dark spots on both bbls & a minor nick or two. Receiver retains 40-50% faded case colors with the balance turned silver. Stock has a couple of hairlines back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound with the forearm showing moderate to heavy wear & retaining a dark patina. Stock shows moderate wear & retains 75-80% strong orig varnish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores with some light frosting. 4-60272 (2,750-3,750)
