*L.C. SMITH SKEET GRADE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN FWS55134. Fine graded L.C. Smith with 26” bbls choked SKEET/SKEET with raised, solid, matted rib, dbl beads, crossbolt bbl extension, ejectors & Hunter One Trigger. Mounted with replacement, feather cut, slab sawed, American walnut with checkered beavertail forearm & straight stock, 14” over a checkered butt. Left lockplate is engraved with a flying quail and right with a clay target. Water table is marked “SKEET” and so is bbl flat. Tops of bbls are unmarked. Bore diameter: left – .729, right – .730. Bore restrictions: left – .007, right – .000. Wall thickness: left – .044, right – .041. Drop at heel: 2-1/2”, drop at comb: 1-1/2”. Weight: 7 lbs. 14.4 oz. CONDITION: Fine, as restored. Bbls retain about all of the fine restored blue, a little thin on left bbl over chamber with some scratches on both bbls, probably from a gun rack. Receiver & lockplates retain about all of their beautiful, Turnbull-style case colors. Wood is sound & retains about all of its fine custom finish with a 1” heat crazed spot on left side of butt. Trigger selector switch is a replacement. Ejectors are a little soft, otherwise mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny honed bores. Dr. Poppell Collection 4-59259 JR547 (1,250-1,750)
