ATTRIBUTED TO WILLIAM MERRITT CHASE (American, 1849-1916) PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG GIRL. Oil on canvas study shows a shoulder length unfinished portrait of a girl with long brown hair seated sideways and looking at viewer. Signed upper right “WMC 1869″. Housed in an antique reeded front flat frame. SIZE: 24″ x 16”. CONDITION: There are two taped patches to reverse. There is an S-shaped 2″ tear below her chin and old repair on forehead.
