*ITHACA FLUES FIELD MODEL DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 464887. Fine little shotgun with 26” bbls choked FULL/MOD with tapered, concave, matted rib, sgl bead, crossbolt rib extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Right bbl is marked “NEW ITHACA FIELD GRADE” and left bbl with maker’s name & address. The left bbl flat is marked “2-7/8 CHAMBER”. Mounted with nicely figured, slab sawed walnut with black tipped, checkered, splinter forearm & capped pistol grip stock, 14” over an Ithaca embossed serrated hard rubber buttplate. Receiver has thin fences with a light zigzag border decoration. Bore diameter: left – .551, right – .552. Bore restrictions: left – .018, right – .020. Unable to gauge wall thickness. Drop at heel: 2-7/8”, drop at comb: 1-3/4”. Weight: 5 lbs. 13.76 oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 75-80% thin orig blue and are slightly loose on hinge pin. Receiver retains traces of case colors in sheltered areas, having mostly turned silver. Forearm has a hairline at rear edge and some minor chipping by bbl channel, otherwise wood is sound with a series of scratches on right side of buttstock and a small chip on right side panel with light handling & use marks elsewhere and retains most of its orig factory varnish.
