*BEAUTIFUL CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG. CO. FOX MODEL DE DBL BBL SHOTGUN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 16 ga. SN F205834. Built on a lightweight frame with 28” bbls choked MOD/IMP-CYL and 30” bbls choked FULL/MOD, with tapered, concave, matted ribs with Bradley red ivory front beads & silver center beads. Right bbls are engraved “MADE TO ORDER-A.H. FOX” and left bbls “CHROMOX FLUID STEEL”. They have a gold line & “1” and “2” in gold respectively at ends of ribs. They have crossbolt rib extensions with ejectors & gold plated sgl selective triggers. Receivers mounted with very highly figured burl circassian walnut with fleur-de-lis & ribbon carved & checkered beavertail forearms & straight stock with matching carved & checkered side panels & wrist, 14-1/8” over an engraved, carved & checkered skeleton buttplate. Bottom of stock has a gold initial plate engraved “L.A.C.”. Receiver & appended metal parts are all beautifully engraved in foliate & floral intertwined patterns with relief engraved setters on left & right sides. Bottom has two flying pheasants. Sides of receiver have maker’s name in gold & engraving extends about 3” up bbls. Trigger plate is signed “J. DAVIDSON”. Accompanied by a C.S. Mfg. Co., maroon felt lined, trunk case, compartmented for shotgun & both bbls, containing a 2-pc brass & wood cleaning rod, two sets of snap caps and a square, nickeled oil bottle. It has its orig canvas & leather cover. Drop at heel: 2-1/4”, drop at comb: 1-1/2”. 28” Bbls: Bore restrictions: left – .019, right – .009. Wall thickness: left – .027, right – .028. Bore diameter: left – .665, right – .664. 30” Bbls: Bore restrictions: left – .030, right – .017. Wall thickness: left – .025, right – .028. Bore diameter: left – .664, right – .664. Weight with 28” bbls: 5 lbs. 15.04 oz. CONDITION: As new, probably has been fired, but very little. Overall retains virtually all of its beautiful factory finish to both metal & wood with light scrapes on standing breech & a minor, tiny nick or two in stock finish.
