GEORGE HAWLEY HALLOWELL (American, 1871-1926) “MOUNTAINOUS LANDSCAPE, ALPINE SUNSET”. Watercolor scene shows a tall rocky mountain peak with fog strewn valley and tree covered hill. Back having two labels, one from the Weatherspoon Art Gallery and the other from the “Raydon Gallery New York, NY” indicating it was exhibited in 1976 at the above exhibition called “Art on Paper 1976”. Also at the Spencer Museum of Art in Lawrence, Kansas in 1978 and the Union League Club, New York City 1980. Signed lower right “George H. Hallowell”. Housed in a fine period gilt thin ribbed frame.
