*CASED CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN COMPANY FOX FE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN F205816. Beautiful little shotgun with 28-1/2” bbls choked tight modified in left & tight improved cyl in right with tapered concave matted rib, dbl ivory beads, crossbolt rib extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Top of right bbl is inlaid in gold “MADE FOR ROBERT J. KOLZE A.H. FOX” & left bbl in gold “CHROMOX FLUID STEEL”. It has a gold line at breech end of rib & gold lightning bolt on each side over the chambers. Mounted with very highly figured Circassian walnut with full checkered & fleur-de-lis & ribbon carved beavertail forearm with Prince of Wales rnd knob stock with fleur-de-lis carved & checkered raised side panels, carved & checkered wrist, 14-15/16” over a carved, checkered & engraved skeleton buttplate. Receiver has scalloped back edges with a raised rib behind fences & has full coverage, spectacular engraving signed by “J.R. Demunck”. It has a highly detailed golden retriever in gold on both sides & a flying grouse in gold on bottom. It has maker’s name in gold on both sides with four gold diamonds on each end of hinge pin. Floorplate screw has a scalloped gold border with initials “RJK” on trigger bow surrounded by a scalloped gold border. Top tang has “SAFE” in gold with four gold diamonds on thumb lever pivot & serial number in gold on bottom tang. Forend iron & skeleton buttplate are engraved to match with scalloped gold borders around two large buttplate screws. Triggers are gold plated. Engraving extends 3-5/8” up bbls. Water table is beautifully engraved with grade & serial number inlaid in gold. Accompanied by its orig Connecticut Shotgun Co. maroon felt lined, leather trunk case with snap caps, a square oil bottle, 2-pc brass & ebony cleaning rod & bits. Also accompanying is orig hang tag fully identifying this shotgun. Additionally accompanying is the orig guarantee, a care instruction sheet & orig invoice dated Feb. 22, 2001. Unable to gauge bore diameter, bore restrictions or wall thickness. Drop at the heel: 2-11/16”, drop at the comb: 1-1/2”. Weight: 5 lbs. 14.4 oz. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, as new, appears to be unfired. Retains virtually all of its brilliant blue & vivid case colors. Stock has a few minor nicks on left side, otherwise wood is sound & retains virtually all of its orig factory finish. Case is equally new. 4-60714 JR311 (20,000-30,000)
