*SCARCE CHARLES DALY PRE-WAR MODEL 200 OVER/UNDER SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 7101. Dated “January 1939″, this fine Belgian-made little shotgun has 28″ solid rib bbls, choked FULL/MOD with 75 mm (3”) chambers. The rib is flat and matted with a Bradley white ivory bead. It is made on narrow flat-sided boxlock action with Merkel style reinforcements on the receiver and bbls with dbl extensions and Greener style cross bolt. It has single, non-selective trigger and ejectors. The receiver and forend iron are modestly engraved with light foliate arabesque patterns with geometric patterns on and around the hinge pin. The receiver reinforcements are deeply engraved with leaf and vine patterns that extend up over the top of the receiver. The opening lever and trigger guard are engraved to match and it has “S” in gold on the top tang above the thumb safety. The wood is nicely grained European walnut with wrap-around splinter forearm and long checkered wrist with flat-bottomed grip, 13-1/4″ over a black Decelerator pad. Drop at the heel 2”, drop at the comb 1-3/8”. Weight 5 lbs, 11.1 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 95-96% strong bright original blue with some light dulling and surface etching with a tiny dent on the bottom bbl. Receiver retains most of its case hardening with some bright colors on the left side and the balance having traces of original colors, mostly turned to silver. Stock is sound with usual light handling & use marks and retains most of a partially restored finish around the receiver area with the balance retaining most of its original finish. Forearm has a hairline on the left side and retains about 90% original varnish. Mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny bores. 4-53706 JR1005 (3,500-4,500)
