GOUGH ENGRAVED PARKER AH GRADE DAMASCUS DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 62222. Built on a No. 3 frame with 32” very fine pattern, Damascus steel bbls with tapered, concave, matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head rib extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Mounted with very highly figured, streaky, marble cake, French or Circassian walnut with checkered splinter forearm & Prince of Wales stock with checkered, raised, fleur-de-lis side panels, 14” over a checkered skeleton buttplate. Receiver is very nicely engraved by Gough with the vignettes of two pointers on left side with four pheasants on forward panel, two setters on right side and five flying ducks in forward panel. Bottom has the large vignette of two setters on point with five partridge and bottom front has the small vignette of a running deer. Gough’s signature appears below the leg of the setter nearest the trigger bow. Trigger bow has two setters on point. Fences have a sgl raised rib around rear edge. This shotgun is in a feature article in the Summer 2006 issue of Double Gun Journal. Bore diameter: left – .797, right – .808. Bore restrictions: left – .031, right – .038. Wall thickness: left – .045, right – .038. Drop at heel: 2-3/4”, drop at comb: 1-11/16”. Weight: 9 lbs. 14.4 oz. Included is the Spring issue of the Double Gun Journal regarding this gun. CONDITION: Very fine. Overall retains about all of a beautiful, professionally restored finish. Bbls have bright brown Damascus pattern & receiver brilliant case colors.
