NIKOLAI IVANOVICH LIBERICH (Russian, 1828-1883) “SIBERIAN GRISSLY”. Outstanding bronze sculpture of a standing bear with paws extended and mouth open. He stands over a fallen tree. Signed in Cyrillic and has a side inscription in Cyrillic and dated “1865”. We are unsure of the casting date but mounted to a more modern molded edge wood plinth. SIZE: Bronze: 21″ h; 22-1/2″ with plinth. PROVENANCE: From a private Rangley, Maine home. CONDITION: Very good. Wood plinth has separation crack. 9-95009 (3,000-5,000)
