*BEAUTIFUL BERTUZZI VENERE MODEL DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 5952. Full sidelock model with 26″ bbls, choked MOD (.020)/IMP-CYL (.012) that have a flat, tapered, hand-matted rib with single bead and dbl lump with ejectors and single non-selective trigger. The receiver, lockplates, trigger guard and forend iron are all coin finished and are beautifully engraved by “Dassa” with the date “93” and are signed on both lockplates. The left lockplate is completely covered with the beautiful scene of two flying gold pheasants in the foreground with shoreline and trees in the foreground and the opposite shoreline and hills in the background. The right lockplate has two gold flying quail in the foreground with trees, a lakeshore and hills in the background with clouds overhead. The bottom of the receiver has a large vignette of two gold bobwhite quail in the foreground with a log, under-brush and hills in the background with clouds overhead. The balance of the receiver and trigger guard have about 90% coverage, extremely fine arabesque patterns which extend over the fences, opening lever, top tang and forend iron. It is mounted in beautiful marble cake honey & chocolate Circassian walnut with splinter forearm and straight stock with raised teardrop side panels, 14-5/8″ over a checkered butt. The forearm has the company crest in gold inlaid in a center diamond. The bottom of the bbls, under the forearm, are marked “DON L. S. CAPE OUTFITTERS” on the left and “CAPE GERARDEAU MO USA” on the right. Accompanied by its original brown leather green felt lined trunk case with the maker’s label in the lid. Drop at the heel 1-3/4”, drop at the comb 1-1/4”. Weight 5 lbs, 12.7 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new, appears to be unfired retaining virtually all of its brilliant original factory finish to both metal & wood. Stock has a very few, very scattered, light handling & storage marks, otherwise is brilliant. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bores. Case is equally new.
