*SPECTACULAR CASED BERTUZZI ORIONE MODEL ROUND ACTION DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 6096. Most spectacular boxlock dbl with 29″ bbls choked MOD (.018)/IMP-CYL (.013). The bbls have tapered, concave, hand-matted rib with single bead, dbl lump and extractors. Gun has ejectors – not extractors. The receiver is delicate and round on the bottom edges with raised scalloped reinforcements behind the fences and has single non-selective trigger. It has full coverage, extraordinarily fine & delicate, arabesque pattern engraving with the company name in a ribbon on each side and a beautiful vignette of a flushing rooster pheasant flying through cattails on the bottom. It is signed on the trigger plate “S. Bertuzzi”. The top tang and trigger bow also have full coverage matching engraving with lighter patterns on the lower tang. The forend iron is engraved to match. The safety is hand checkered with scalloped edges and it has a large “S” in gold on the top tang. It is mounted in extremely beautiful marble cake honey & chocolate French or Circassian walnut with matching forearm. It has a full-checkered splinter forearm and straight stock, 14-3/4″ over a checkered butt with engraved heel & toe plates. Marked on the bottom of the bbls, under the forearm, “NEW ENGLAND ARMS” on the left and “KITTERY POINT ME” on the right. It is accompanied by its original English style brown leather maroon felt lined trunk case with brass corners & fittings. It has the maker’s label in the lid. Drop at the heel 1-1/16”, drop at the comb 9/16”. Weight 6 lbs, 4.0 oz. CONDITION: New & unfired retaining virtually all of its original brilliant factory finish to both metal & wood with no discernable flaws. Case is equally new. 4-53692 (20,000-30,000)
