The receivers have full sidelocks and are engraved by Harry Kell in bank note style with multiple game scene vignettes. The left lockplate of gun #1 has three vignettes of three chukkar, two guinea fowl and a woodcock. The right lockplate of gun #1 has three vignettes of two flying mallards, two geese and two snipe. The bottom of the receiver has two vignettes of a flying mallard and three rooster pheasants on gun #1. Gun #2 differs slightly with the orientation of the birds. The trigger bow also has a vignette of two large birds, possibly pigeons. All the vignettes and body of the receiver have the balance of the spaces filled with fine arabesque patterns. The fences, opening lever pivots and tabs have deep relief engraved foliate patterns; the fences have side clips and delicate raised lines. The top tangs, lower tangs & forend iron with a small flourish on the ribs, are engraved to match. CONDITION: Very fine. All matching numbered, including the new bbls. Bbls retain 96-98% strong bright original blue with light muzzle edge wear and a few light scratches on gun #2. All the balance of the metal on both shotguns is a silver gray color with sharp engraving and no apparent damage. Both forearms are missing a small sliver by the bbl channel, otherwise the wood appears to be sound and retains virtually all of its fine restored finish with light handling & use scattered nicks & dings. Checkering shows moderate wear. Case is very fine showing light to moderate use & wear with a few dings and a tacked repair to the front edge.
