WILLIAM NELSON (American, 1942-) “CHINESE RESTAURANT”. Oil on canvas street scene shows the front façade of Louie’s restaurant. A large neon side displays “Cantonese Famous Chinese Cuisine Cocktails”. Another awning and two stores are beside. Signed lower right “William Nelson 85”. Housed in a fine gold wood frame with linen liner. Attached to back is an exhibition ticket from the 1986 I. A. C. N.Y. Annual Exhibition. In 1976 Nelson was selected by the U.S. Olympic Committee as the exclusive artist of the Olympic Games. His works are held in numerous public collections including the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian Institution, the White House and the National Museum of Natural History. Nelson also is included in many private collections including Hollywood stars, sports figures and others. SIZE: 30” x 40”. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 9-26620 (4000-5000)
