LIONEL STANDARD GAUGE #6 LOCOMOTIVE WITH MATCHING TENDER.

LIONEL STANDARD GAUGE #6 LOCOMOTIVE WITH MATCHING TENDER. This somewhat earlier version locomotive with pedestal headlight has thick rimmed wheels, cab is painted black with dark red trim, and lettered “NYC & HRRR,” on both sides. Has a crinkle cupola on locomotive as well. Matching tender is also in black with dark red trim, embossed “LIONEL MFG CO. N.Y.,” on the bottom. CONDITION: Ventilator on roof of locomotive is missing, bluing on boiler appears to be very fine, one flag stanchion missing as well as a sliver of wood from pilot beam; tender has a weathered look to the paint, rubber stamping is faint, trucks are dirty but will clean up nicely. This type of earlier Lionel locomotive is becoming more difficult to find as the years pass. EC 1-2925 (900-1,500)
