*LC SMITH CROWN GRADE TRAP GUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN RE101142. Fine early trap gun with 32” vent rib bbls, choked IMP MOD/MOD, dbl beads, Hunter One-trigger and ejectors. Receiver and lockplates are beautifully engraved in typical Crown Grade patterns with large oval vignettes of two setters in a woodland scene on the left lockplate and two pointers on the right side has about 60% coverage fine arabesque pattern engraving with the maker’s name in a ribbon on each side. The opening lever, top tang, forend iron and trigger guard are engraved to match. The trigger bow is inlayed in gold script “LEO”. It has nicely figured American walnut wood with checkered beavertail forearm and semi-pistol grip Monte Carlo stock, 14 5/8” over an old Hawkins red waffle pad. CONDITION: About fine. Bbls retain about all of a professionally restored rust/blue finish. Bbl lettering is thin but mostly legible. Receiver retains an even silvered case color finish with sharp engraving. Stock has a bone grip cap and the wood is sound retaining most of a professionally restored oil finish with freshened checkering and a few light nicks and scratches on the buttstock. Selector switch is a little stiff but works. Mechanics are fine. Right bore is brilliant and shiny with left bore having light speckled pitting. 4-52401 JR170 (6,000-7,000)
