VICTOR PAILLARD (French, 1805-1886) THE HORN BLOWERS. Figural group shows a semi-nude woman seated next to a semi-nude man with lion skin draped over leg. They both hold a small horn and look at each other. A cane and hat are on ground. After a bronze by Jean-Jacques Feuchere which bears the signature and the date “1847”. Signed on other side “Victor Paillard, Paris”. Mounted to an octagon shaped wood stepped plinth and comes with an ormolu mounted oval table. SIZE: Bronze is 20-1/2” h; wood base is 7” h. Table is 26-1/4” h x 29” w. Total is 53-3/4” h. CONDITION: 9-70815 (6,000-8,000)
