*RARE LC SMITH MONOGRAM GRADE SINGLE BBL TRAP GUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN S403730M. Very rare gun. According to Brophy only about 15 guns ever made in this model, possibly as few as 6 with this bbl length. It has a 32” vent rib bbl, dbl ivory beads, choked IMP MOD with beautiful, highly figured, American walnut, having a long tapered schnable tipped forearm with fine fleur-de-lis and ribbon checkering with a matching checkered pistol grip Monte Carlo stock, 14 1/2” over a crystallized White Line pad. The stock appears to be an old replacement. The receiver is very beautifully engraved in extremely fine patterns having old vignettes of two flying pigeons on each side and a flying duck on the floorplate, all surrounded by rose and scroll, very well executed, engraving. The trigger guard and forend iron are engraved to match. CONDITION: Very fine, as noted. Bbl retains 93 – 95% fine restored rust blue. Receiver retains 50-60% faded, original case colors with the balance turned silver. Buttstock is sound and retains most of its fine custom finish. Forearm is also sound and retains most of its original dark oil finish and shows moderate to heavy wear. Mechanics are fine. Bright shiny bore. 4-52400 JR177 (6,000-10,000)
