*RARE CASED CHARLES DALY REGENT DIAMOND QUALITY DBL BBL SHOTGUN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 12 ga. SN 1583. Spectacular, Prussian, Lindner made Daly with 28” bbls choked FULL/IMP-CYL and 30” bbls choked FULL/FULL. Both have tapered, concave, matted ribs with sgl ivory bead with “CHARLES DALY REGENT DIAMOND QUALITY” in gold with engraving about 8-1/2” up the rib. It has Greener type crossbolt rib extension with dbl bites, ejectors & dbl triggers. Bbls are made of Excelsior steel by Witten. Mounted with exhibition quality, streaky, honey & chocolate French or Circassian walnut with black tipped, fleur-de-lis carved & checkered forearm & straight stock with checkered raised side panels, 14” over a leather covered pad. Receiver is wonderfully deep engraved with full coverage having a small oval vignette of two raised gold woodcock on left side, two raised gold partridge on right side, a large gold crown & raised gold duck on bottom with two raised gold quail on trigger bow & raised gold intertwined initials “MDW”. Fences are deep relief engraved in spiral shell pattern with raised rib around front & back edges with side clips. Receiver also has cocked indicators & maker’s name on each side with “SAFE” in gold on top tang. Bottom of stock has a small gold oval engraved “M”. Accompanied by a tan leather trunk case with brown felt lining containing a pair of snap caps & a rnd oil bottle with 2-pc brass & wood cleaning rod. Bore restrictions: left – .040, right – .004. Wall thickness: left – .022, right – .021. Bore diameter: left – .728, right – .729. 30” bbls: Bore restrictions: left – .031, right – .027. Wall thickness: left – .022, right – .019. Bore diameter: left – .729, right – .727. 28” bbls: Drop at heel: 3”, drop at comb: 1-3/4”. Weight: 7 lbs. 7.04 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Both sets of bbls retain all of a spectacular professionally restored finish with brilliant rust blue that left engraving & gold completely intact. Receiver retains case colors in very sheltered areas with balance having faded to silver. Wood is sound & retains about all of a wonderful, very professionally restored finish. Mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny bores with one small spot in right bore of 28” bbls. Case is fine with one loose corner reinforcement. 4-58397 JR309 (30,000-50,000)
