LOT OF FIVE MASON DECOYS. Mason produced the finest manufactured decoys during the market hunting era from the late 1800’s into the 20th C. The decoys were stylistically very appealing and the orig paint patination is also extremely appealing to collectors today. Mason also produced decoys in three grades: there is standard grade, challenge grade and their premier grade. Most of these decoys are of the better grade and feature glass eyes. They include a carved Bufflehead in what appears to be orig paint. A life-sized mallard in old paint with some touch up, two hen Mallards also in orig old paint with some old touch up and also a hen Mallard in orig old paint. CONDITION: Paint generally worn on all as noted above. Decoys show plenty of use. Dr. Poppell Collection 4-58951 (1,500-2,500)
