SCARCE EARLY TYPE III MANHATTAN NAVY PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 36. SN 16821. Type III with 6-1/2″ oct bbl, German silver front sight, later style tapered rammer lever with the rare recoil shield spring plate. It has brass grip frame & 1-pc walnut grips and 5-shot cylinder. CONDITION: Good to very good. All matching except the rammer, which is unnumbered. No orig finish remains being a medium to dark even brown patina with some fine light surface pitting. Grip frame retains traces of orig silver-plating being a medium mustard patina. Grips are sound & retain about 90% orig varnish. Cylinder retains 25-30% orig scene with light pitting. Wedge screw appears to be a replacement. Timing needs attention, otherwise mechanics are fine. Strong bore with light pitting. 4-54256 JR387 (500-800)
