LARGE GERMANIC FLINTLOCK MARTIAL PISTOL. SN 29. 72 cal. 13” rnd bbl. “STORSTAF” is branded into the right side of the grip. The number “29” appears on the bbl, sideplate, stock and buttcap. “49” appears on the bbl tang but this is engraved rather than stamped. There is a large brass blade front sight 2inches to the rear of the muzzle. The bbl and ramrod pins have oval brass escutcheons on both sides of the stock. The stock has been finished with a black paint. The ramrod has an ivory tip and is probably a replacement. CONDITION: Smooth gray patina on iron parts, dark patina on brass. Crack at the wrist near the top spurs of the buttcap. Most of the black paint remains on the stock with wear on sharp edges. Mechanically fine. Wm. Hancock Collection 4-58632 FS622 (1,500-2,500)
