SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER 2ND MODEL 1873 RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 73409. Standard grade rifle with special order 26” bbl, full magazine, replacement front sight with original short semi-buckhorn rear sight with checkered edges. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent buttplate with trap. It appears that the rifle originally had factory sling swivels that are now missing and the hole in the stock has been filled. CONDITION: Good plus. Cleaned, mottled brown patina with traces of original blue on bbl and magazine tube. Receiver is a cleaned silver/gray patina. Stock has a crack back of the top tang and a gouge in the forearm with bruises on the wrist and retains most of an old refinish. Good mechanics, strong bright bore with light pitting. 4-52328 JR146 (750-1,250)
