BERNICE ABBOTT (American, 1898-1991) PHILLIP’S GENERAL STORE, SHIRLEY MILLS, MAINE. Unsigned vintage photograph of the Post Office and Phillips General Store located in Shirley Mills, Maine. Photograph shows the building with a gentleman entering on the front steps. Housed in a black wood frame. Renowned photographer was Man Ray’s assistant in Paris and photographed scenes in Maine in the 1960’s. PROVENANCE: Given to consignor directly from the artist in 1984. SIGHT SIZE: 14-1/2” x 18”. CONDITION: Not examined out of frame. Some glue to edged. Generally good, photograph has been laid onto white cardboard. 9-28105 (500-1000)
