*WINCHESTER SPECIAL ORDER TAKE DOWN MODEL 1892 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 858250. Standard grade rifle with 24-1/4″ standard weight oct bbl, 1/2 magazine, Jack front sight and original flat top rear sight. It has nicely figured straight grain walnut stock and forearm with straight grip and crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine, all original with the bbl retaining about 95% strong original blue with light muzzle and edge wear. The take down ring retains 95-96% strong bright original blue. The receiver retains about 50-60% thin original blue, mostly on the left side with the balance flaked to a medium patina. The wood is sound with usual light handling and use marks and a few small scratches and bruises on the forearm with a bruise on the wrist and a small gouge on the bottom of the stock.
