RARE PROTOTYPE M7 BAYONET FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL COLT AR15/M16 RIFLE. Made from a Type II M4 bayonet with standard M4 blade and stacked leather handle with fiber spacers and accompanied by a recycled M8 sheath. It has the new handguard with large muzzle ring to accommodate the AR15/M16 flash hider. The handguard flash hider appears to have been die stamped from 1/8” stock. CONDITION: Blade retains most of its orig gray/green parkerizing with a few nicks on the edges. Handle shows moderate wear & soil with spacers and pommel having been painted black. Sheath is repainted OD and shows heavy wear with rust on rivets. 4-56731 JR469 (750-1,250)
