AMERICAN FLYER STANDARD GAUGE PRESIDENT’S SPECIAL SERIES. This would be a beautiful train to grace a mantle or add to any collection! Set consists of locomotive #4689, lettered “THE COMMANDER,” in two-toned blue with original gilt eagles on either end and one original flag. Four passenger cars in contrasting two toned blue include pullman car #4391 lettered “THE ACADEMY,” dining car #4393 lettered “ANNAPOLIS,” club car #4390 lettered “WEST POINT,” and observation car #4392 lettered “ARMY NAVY,” all on brass plates. Over window of each car is another brass plate above the door lettered “PRESIDENT’S SPECIAL.” All cars have brass trim, nickel trucks, and red wheels, and original paper sticker is on each. CONDITION: Very few minor chips and scratches, near excellent. EC 1-3054 (5,500-8,000)
