WINCHESTER DELUXE MODEL 1892 TOM MIX PRESENTATION LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38WCF (38-40). SN 56483. Fine deluxe rifle with 24” rnd bbl, full magazine, standard open sights with checkered forearm and pistol grip stock that has hard rubber grip cap and checkered steel buttplate. Left side of receiver is engraved with gold wash applied “MILLER BROS. 101 RANCH/ZACK-GEORGE-JOE/PRESENTED TO/TOM MIX/JAN. 6, 1909 BLISS, OKLAHOMA”. Accompanied by five framed photographs, 34 unframed photos, all of Tom Mix in various movie poses. Also accompanied by five small movie posters of Tom Mix movies and four small Tom Mix postcards. In addition, there is a program from the 1930 season Sells-Floto Circus. In addition, there are two books about Tom Mix, one by M. G. Norris and the other by John H. Nichols. please note, additionally accompanied by a copy of a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this rifle as having been shipped Sept. 20, 1910 with plain wood stock and pistol grip with shotgun butt and rubber butt plate. CONDITION: Very fine. Metal retains 92-94% strong original blue with scattered light surface rust, a cleaned spot at the top left rear of receiver and a repaired ding over the “Z” in the inscription. Wood is sound but of different colors. Both appear to be original wood however and both forearm and stock retain 97-98% original finish. Lever and hammer retain about 60% case colors. Bore is bright and shiny with some scattered light pitting. 4-53578 JR966 (7,500-15,000)
