GEORGE III OAK BOUND LIQUOR CHEST. Second half 18th century. In blue paint and wallpaper-lined, the ironbound box with hinged lid opening to an interior fitted with an arrangement of eight stoppered gilt-decorated bottles, the center compartment fitted for two tumblers and a wooden tray fitted with three wine stems. The box with carrying handles and original lock and key. SIZE: 10-1/2″ h. x 16″ w. x 11″ d. CONDITION: The painted surface original but scrubbed and faded, paper lining original with wear and fading; retains original bottles and glasses, missing tumblers.
