LIONEL 2 7/8 GAUGE #100 ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE WITH A DESIGNATION B. & O. #5.

LIONEL 2 7/8 GAUGE #100 ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE WITH A DESIGNATION B. & O. #5. This is one of Lionel’s early pieces circa 1903. Tin body cast iron frame, black roof, dark maroon sides and end, lettered “B. & O. No. 5” on each side and “No. 5” on each end. Frame is black (alligatored). Marked “Lionel Manufacturing Co. N.Y.” It has a miniature controller, which actually operates forward and reverse motion. Locomotive has a wonderful presence. CONDITION: There is some old time minor chipping. The metal framing around locomotive may have been touched up. One cast iron pin broken that holds body to frame, but does not affect visual appeal. Overall condition very good.
