*RARE MARLIN MODEL 27-S PUMP RIFLE. Cal. 25 RF. SN 551. Scarce deluxe rifle with 24″ rnd bbl, 3/4 magazine and the very rare checkered bird’s eye maple stock & forearm. The forearm is tapered and round with triangle shaped checkering patterns and the stock has a checkered straight grip with crescent steel buttplate. The bbl and receiver have usual markings. These rifles are routinely scarce and rarely encountered with any special order feature. CONDITION: Very fine. Metal retains 93-95% strong original blue overall with light edge wear and a small chemical spot over the chamber area on the bbl and another smaller spot on top of the receiver. The wood is sound with nicks and scratches to the finish and retains 92-93% strong original varnish showing moderate wear to the checkering and a small chip on the forearm.
