C. FISCHER (BRITISH, LATE 19TH CENTURY) ON THE CROUCH, ESSEX. Oil on canvas scene shows a calm river with two single-masted fishing boats alongside a short dock with town buildings beyond. It is early evening and the sun is setting, casting a wonderful colorful sky from light blue through yellow to pink/red. Signed bottom right, “C. FISCHER, 1891″. Housed in a good gesso-decorated gilt frame. SIZE: 20″ x 30”. CONDITION: Craquelure, one small puncture in sky and surface dirt, otherwise very good. 9-99836 (1,000-1,500)
