COLLECTION OF FOUR CLOTH AND COMPOSITION STUFFED DOLLS ACCOMPANIED BY TWO DOLL’S TRUNKS, EACH FILLED WITH DOLL’S PERIOD CLOTHING. Dolls: 1) 22” African-American cloth doll with painted face and floral gingham dress. 2) 22” Black-haired doll with glass eyes, dressed in linen and lace pantaloons and bodice top, composition head, kid and cloth body. 3) 19” Blonde, brown-eyed doll with cloth face over composition body with painted features in a cream linen dress. 4) 14” Blonde, blue-eyed with composition head, horsehair stuffed body with leather hands, dressed in a gingham robe with blue trim. Trunks: 11” h x 18” l x 10” d of rectangular form, leather covered, with tray filled several pairs of doll’s shoes, a jointed bisque baby doll, Oriental crawling baby doll, woolen muff, at least five dresses and smocks and other assorted linens, shawls, blankets, etc. Also an 11” h x 16” w x 9-1/2” d dome-top decorated trunk filled with doll clothing and implements of the period. PROVENANCE: From a Harpswell, Maine home. CONDITION: Note- This collection circa 1890-1910 is in well used condition, the trunks with wear and losses, the dolls with varying degrees of wear, losses, and damage, the clothing and accessories appear in very good overall, well cared for condition. 9-90085 MD (600-1,000)
