SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 50 EX (50-110). SN 98575. Rare special order Big 50 with 28″ heavy bbl that measures 15/16″ across the flats at the muzzle and weighs 10 lbs. 7 oz. It has a brass bead hunting front sight, a slot blank in the rear seat and a Lyman loop tang sight. It has full magazine with uncheckered, nicely figured, stock and forearm with straight grip and crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Fine, the bbl retains about 75% dull original blue with some chemical spotting near the muzzle and a few spots about mid-point. The magazine tube is a blue/gray patina. The receiver retains 40-50% faded case colors with the balance turned silver. The lever retains traces of case colors and the hammer about 75% faded colors. The wood is sound with usual light handling and use scratches, nicks and dings and retains most of a recent refinish. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with fine pitting and a very faint ring near the muzzle. 4-53435 JR757 (3,500-5,000)
