GORDON HANSEN (American, 1904-1972) ARTIST ARCHIVE OF WORKS. Gordon Hansen worked in Boston, Cambridge, New Hampshire and Cape Cod. Also depictions of sporting events and drawings under the employ of the Boston Herald. Hansen studied and taught at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA. He did magazine covers for the New Yorker and Cosmopolitan. Lot includes: Cover watercolor for the Boston Sunday Herald Industrial Development Section; Black and white illustration showing Cossacks with caption “You talk like a poet, not like a soldier”; Two gouache sketches for the Boston Sunday Herald; Gouache of woman with blue hat; some ink black and white sporting scenes involving tennis, track and field, hockey; Other illustrations in watercolor include maple sugaring, dinner table, pencil sketches, portraits of Joseph F. O’Connell; sketches of buildings. Also included are photographs of the artist. Over 35+ works of various sizes. CONDITION: Overall good.
