MODEL 1860 HENRY LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44RF Henry. SN 6319. Standard Henry rifle with bbl trimmed to 23-1/4”. It has an applied brass blade front sight and standard 900 yd ladder rear sight missing the slide. It has straight stock with crescent brass buttplate with trap and factory sling loop and eye with evidence of the Henry bump. The top flat of the receiver over the chamber is hand-stamped “CURTIS”. The same stamp appears faintly on the left side of the buttstock. Each side of the receiver and the left side of the bbl are hand stamped in large letters “1937”. The serial number is stamped on the left side of the lower tang underneath the wood, in the top tang channel of the buttstock, and inside the toe of the buttplate. CONDITION: Bbl, cut as noted. Retains a dark brown patina with traces of original blue in the gullets. Bbl sleeve has several large dents on the right side and the bbl has numerous dents on the left side just below the sleeve. Light to moderate pitting on the sleeve. Magazine tube has a couple of dents near the receiver and the follower spring is an apparent replacement with a dowel inserted near the upper end. Sleeve screw is missing. Stock shows moderate to heavy wear and a light refinish with a couple of gouges on the right side and a large chip from the toe. Tip of the lever has been augmented in order to reach the lock. Extractor is a replacement. Bore is worn and dark. 4-51382 JR44 (8,500-11,500)
