FINE ROCOCO CARVED MAHOGANY SERVER ATTRIBUTED TO ALEXANDER ROUX, NEW YORK. The splash guard carved with a pair of winged cherubs centering a cartouche joined to the rectangular top with acanthus carved edge and bow front above the conforming frieze, the center bowed drawer carved with a fruit filled urn flanked by winged griffins and floral scrolls. The end drawers cared with fierce lion masks supported by a pair of carved bearded figures on scrolled brackets. Backboard molded and paneled all joined to a molded shelf with serpentine front raised on lion claw feet. NOTE: A carved walnut sideboard by Alexander Roux with similar elements sold by James D.
