*SPRINGFIELD M-1 GARAND NAVY MATCH RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. SN 3130629. Normal Garand configuration with 24″ bbl dated “1965”, National Match sights and nicely figured walnut stock and hand guards. The upper hand guard is fixed solid in the manner of all match garands. It has a black oxide finish on the metal and stamped steel buttplate with trap. It has Springfield parts where numbers are visible and has the number “0629” stamped inside the floorplate and on the bottom of the grip of the stock. The action is glass bedded in the stock and is somewhat difficult to remove. The action is tuned and very smooth with a crisp military trigger that appears to break at about 5 lbs. The wood is all nicely finish with evidence of an old sticky label on the left side of the butt which the consignor states was there when he obtained the rifle about twenty years ago and it bore a Petty Officer’s name. CONDITION: Extremely fine, the metal retains virtually all of its smooth even black oxide finish with slight wear on the gas cylinder, front sight base and ring. The stock has a hairline on the left side in front of the receiver, otherwise the wood is sound with minor handling & use marks and retains most of its fine custom finish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-53602 JR1033 (1,000-1,500)
