*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 63 CARBINE IN AN EXTREMELY RARE BOX. Cal. 22 LR. SN 666. Standard grade, first year production, Model 63 carbine with 20″ tapered rnd bbl, Jack front sight, Marbles slot blank in the rear seat and a Lyman locking tang sight. It has nicely figured straight grain stock and forearm with pistol grip and smooth steel buttplate. It is accompanied by the extremely rare green & white box with large red “WINCHESTER” trademark with an over label marked “AUTOMATIC RIFLE”. The end of the box also has a green & white paper over label indicating this is the Model 6301 and also has the serial number. The interior of the box has the original cardboard and original oiled paper. It is also accompanied by the original Winchester cardboard shipping sleeve with red “WINCHESTER” stamp and “Winchester Repeating Arms Co. / NEW HAVEN, CONN., U.S.A.” in blue. There are several Railway Express labels, some of which are damaged and partially removed. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, near mint, as new, unfired, retaining virtually all of its original factory finish to both metal & wood. The stock has a hairline on each side of the wrist and one or two tiny handling and storage marks, otherwise it is unflawed. The inside box is crisp and pristine with a few small rub spots, otherwise appears new. The shipping sleeve is soiled and worn with one end flap mostly missing. 4-53372 JR785 (6,500-12,500)
