UNSIGNED (AMERICAN, LATE 19TH CENTURY) NEW ENGLAND LANDSCAPE. Oil on canvas scene overlooking a small pond toward a town with church, another steeple and tall industrial smokestack. The pond is surrounded by grass and rock ledge and there are groves of trees. All under a blue and white cloud sky. On reverse of stretcher is a “FROST AND ADAMS, BOSTON” label. Housed in what may be its original fancy, gesso-decorated gilt antique frame with gilt antique liner. SIZE: 16″ x 22″. CONDITION: Very good with some minor touch up. 9-99921 (1,000-1,500)
