*SPRINGFIELD M1 GARAND. Cal. 30. SN 56958. 24” bbl. This is a good example of a first month production gas port M1 Garand. It has all the correct parts with an “8-40” dated bbl as well as all small parts including rear sight assembly and duel keystone wire springs. Stock is correct, no trap, butt never modified, with two equal holes. This would be a great first month production gas port Garand, although refinished. Orig examples are nearly impossible to find. CONDITION: Excellent, as refinished. Barreled action has 95% refinish with bands & trigger housing assembly retaining 60-75% orig finish. Stock has numerous small dents & dings, although not unattractive. Cartouche is worn off but circle “P” proof mark is still present. Mechanics are excellent. Bore, although slightly dark, is excellent. 4-58236 BK1 (4,000-7,000)
