*SPRINGFIELD M1 GARAND. Cal. 30. SN 3647572. This Garand is in Marine Corp MC-1 or MC-52 configuration. It is in the proper SN range, and telescope mount rings, flash hider etc., are all proper for this gun. With the exception of the sniper updates, gun retains all of its 1945 parts, including stock, bbl, bolt, etc. CONDITION: Receiver and scope base retain approx. 95% of what appears to be the orig Parkerizing. Rear sight is in excellent condition and of the late WWII as should be. Op-rod is a flat side-9 with no modifications, retaining 90% of its orig finish. “5-45” bbl shows somewhat frosted though rifling is very strong. Rifle is equipped with a Springfield Armory forged flat cone type flash hider. Scope base, scope mount, T-4 rings and Koll-Morgan scope are all Marine Corp postwar updates. Base screws have not been staked but this is common for Marine Corp updates. Buttstock is in excellent condition with a very legible “NFR” cartouche although at some point in time stock did have a grenade sight on it. K-Line cheek piece is in excellent condition as are the hand guards and the “1944” dated WWII sling. Overall a very nice example of a WWII sniper rifle updated for post war Marine Corp use. 4-58353 BK25 (4,500-7,500)
