HANS HANSEL GERMAN ZIMMERSCHUETZEN RIFLE. Cal. 177 RF or thereabouts. SN 7042. Unusual Rim fire Schuetzen with bbl-mounted mechanism that has a rifle bbl only the last 7” of the muzzle. It has a 26 1/4” medium weight oct bbl with winged bead front sight and large disk vernier pedestal mounted peep sight at the rear. The top flat is matted and the side flats are marked with the maker’s name and “DEGGENDORF”. It has a Schnable tip forearm and heavy Schuetzen stock with checkered wrist and thumb rest. The buttplate has a short horn on the top and long horn on the bottom. It also has a Schuetzen lever with dbl set triggers and is fitted with sling loops. The receiver, lever and buttplate are case colored. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 96 – 98% strong original blue with some scattered light surface spotting. Mechanism is fine, complete and intact. Receiver and buttplate retain most of their brilliant original case colors and most of the shellac coating. Wood is sound and retains most of its original varnish. Mechanics are fine. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-52264 JR100 (1,500-2,500)
