SPECIAL ORDER STEVENS MODEL 44 IDEAL SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 25-20 SS. SN 5672. Scarce special order 30” medium weight oct to rnd bbl with globe front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight and a mid-range tang sight, missing the slide. It has uncheckered wood with semi-schnable forearm and crescent steel buttplate. CONDITION: About good. All matching. No original finish remains, being a mottled silver black patina with cleaned areas and fine pitting overall with spots of heavier pitting. Wood is sound and retains most of an old refinish. Sight elevator is missing. Strong dark bore. Mechanics are fine. 4-52266 JR101 (500-1,000)
