FINE PAIR OF JAPANESE BRONZE INLAID BALUSTER VASES, EDO OR MEIJI PERIOD. Each with a central panel, inlaid in shibuichi, rogin, gold and copper depicting a scholarly figure amongst rocks and trees flanked by incised geometric handles, the reverse with panels of fruit and vinery all within inlaid butterfly borders, the bases with inlaid scrolling floral vinery raised on molded, bracket-footed plinths. SIZE: 14” h. CONDITION: Surface has some loss of patina due to old polishing, otherwise very good. 9-90013 MD (2,000-3,000)
