*1941 JOHNSON SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE. Cal. 30. SN 0039. This rifle is an outstanding example of the Johnson Automatics that were purchased by the United States Marines to supplement the shortage of Garands during the 2nd World War. They were used until enough Garands were in the system, and then they were transferred over to the Navy Seabees. This particular example which production shows as new. Mechanics are perfect. CONDITION: Metal of this rifle is as new with no signs of wear or use whatsoever. Buttstock is in near perfect condition with one very slight scratch on the top, directly in front of the buttplate and one very small ding just above the trigger assembly on the left-hand side, measuring approx. 1/8” around. Front hand guard is near perfect with just very minor storage scuffs in it, showing no kind of significant damage at all. Buttplate is slightly off center in mounting which is fairly typical for these rifles and the two buttplate screws are ever so slightly buggered. Bore is as new. One of the finest examples that I’ve had an opportunity to handle especially in such an early rifle. 4-58354 BK15 (4,500-8,500)
