TWO JAPANESE CARVED IVORY FIGURES (Probably mid 19th Century). The first a flower vendor carrying a satchel with lotus flowers and a butterfly perched on the arm. Signed on the underside of base and with an etched flower. SIZE: 5-3/4”h. The second depicting a robed gentleman one foot resting on a stump with a floral filled basket on which is perched an exotic bird, a mongoose at his feet and one foot . Signed on the underside within a cinnabar panel. SIZE: 4-3/4”h. CONDITION: The first in very fine original condition, no imperfections noted. The second missing wing tip on bird and minor chip at edge of robe otherwise very good condition. 9-90558 SM (500-1,500)
