*WONDERFUL DAVID MILLER CUSTOM HUNTING RIFLE. Cal. 300 Win Mag. SN 303. Spectacular Miller rifle by, arguably, the finest rifle maker in the world today. It has a 23″ oct to rnd bbl with a gold wire inlaid line at the muzzle. The caliber and serial number are marked on the bbl at about mid-point and the maker’s name on the top flat. It utilizes Miller’s custom Mauser style action with Model 70 type safety and bolt release and Miller’s custom hinged floor plate and trigger guard with the caliber on the floor plate and serial number on the trigger bow. The receiver is mounted with Miller’s extremely rugged custom scope base and rings with fine gold wire on each end of the top ring. The ring ends are polished with the center portion matte finish with the rest of the metal being a fine satin matte finish. The rifle is mounted in a very beautifully figured chocolate & honey French walnut 1-piece stock with rosewood forend cap, smooth metal grip cap with polished center diamond, outlined with gold. It has a fine classic European style cheek piece with extensive, about 24-line, checkering and engraved dbl reinforcing bolts through steel escutcheons with each bolt cover an engraved flower. The action screws have Miller’s custom spring loaded Allen screw head and are engraved with 6-petal flowers. The stock also has Miller’s custom, lightly engraved, sling swivel bases and a gold initial plate on the bottom. The bolt knob has 5-panel checkering with four teardrops and a round dot. The length of pull is 14-1/8″ over a solid red recoil pad. The rings contain a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8X scope and it is accompanied by a suede lined, tooled leather sling. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new, the consignor reports that it has only been test fired. He states that it was purchased for an African safari that never happened. The rifle retains virtually all of its fine custom finish to both metal and wood. The stock has a small bruise on the left side panel and one or two tiny handling & storage nicks. The action is crisp & smooth with a bright shiny bore and bright optics. 4-53439 JR780 (12,500-17,500)
